Themes and Big Ideas

Drew Greinke

Dreams, Hopes, and Plans. What the dream will happen to the farm, what the individual hopes for. And the plan to make Animal Farm work.

Dreams, Hopes, and Plans: In chapter 6, the animals and the pigs dreams hopes and plans are different. The animals want equality with lots of food and little hard labor. The pigs want control over everything and in a way, take over Johns "spot". You can really see the communism take shape in chapter 6. Napoleon starts to take total control of Animal Farm. He stops Sunday meetings  for "volunteer" work days and stops the animals from eating with the pigs.

You can see this in the us government. The people want to lower taxes, the government wants to raise taxes. The government has plans to increase jobs and help the economy. And the people dream and hope those plans will go through.
